'I was given only a place in corner of Congress as I was Karunakaran's daughter'; AICC headquarters will have to be shut down after election, says Padmaja Venugopal

PATHANAMTHITTA: Padmaja Venugopal said that she was given only a place in the corner of the Congress as she was the daughter of K Karunakaran. She also said that the AICC headquarters will have to be shut down after the Lok Sabha elections. Padmaja was speaking at BJP's public meeting in Pathanamthitta.

"Nowadays, people do not give much importance to political parties. They want development. Is today's younger generation staying in Kerala for education? They want to go to Canada and other foreign countries for higher studies and jobs. What is the reason? There is no facility for that in Kerala. I expect Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide such facilities in the state. Today, there are many places in Kerala where parents live alone. This situation should change. I was given only a place in the corner of the Congress as I was the daughter of Karunakaran. I'm sure that AICC headquarters will have to be shut down after the elections," Padmaja said.

"Only recently did I understand that the Congress is doomed. I will use all my skills for the BJP. I did not join the BJP to go back. I remained in the Congress for so long by suffering various hardships and insults. Congress has contempt for women," she said.
